How to make alternative proteins more acceptable?
Shifting our diets toward more sustainable protein sources is crucial not only for the environment but also for public health. However, adopting novel proteins can be challenging, as it often requires changing long-established habits and cultural preferences. Understanding how people perceive and accept these alternatives is therefore essential for developing effective strategies.
To explore this, PROTEIN
WP5 focuses on understanding and encouraging behavioural changes that can increase the acceptance of alternative proteins compared to traditional diets. Students participating in the Info Event were invited to share their dietary preferences and contribute to developing strategies that enhance the acceptance of alternative proteins. The insights gathered will help shape approaches that make alternative proteins more appealing over the long term.
By combining social research with sensory and nutritional studies, WP5 aims to generate knowledge that can inform future strategies for promoting sustainable diets across the EU, bridging research across domains and supporting societal change.
