The University of Hohenheim (UOH), located in Stuttgart, Germany, is a prestigious institution known for its expertise in agricultural and natural sciences since its founding in 1818. Today, it is recognized as one of Germany’s leading universities, particularly in business, economics, and social sciences. UOH conducts research in areas such as health, nutrition, agriculture, consumer protection, and environmental protection. It plays a key role in innovative fields like biobased products, bioenergy, and bioeffector research. UOH is also part of the HERMES network, collaborating with top European universities on dual degree programs and joint research initiatives. Ranked within the top 300 globally and among the top universities in Germany, UOH maintains strong academic alliances worldwide.

UOH leads WP3 in the PROTEIN4IMPACT project. UOH will work on modifying, stabilizing, and improving the sensory properties of alternative proteins, with a particular focus on non-animal sources. Together with In.BIO, UOH conduct sensory tests on humans to evaluate the acceptability and quality of these alternative proteins, contributing significantly to the project’s goals of promoting sustainable, non-meat protein options.
