AQUABIOTECH LIMITED

AQB Aquaculture, based in Malta, is an international consulting company operating in over fifty-five countries, specializing in aquaculture, fisheries, and aquatic environmental projects. With a focus on the marine environment, AQB provides services ranging from aquaculture development and market research to project feasibility assessments and technical training. The company has developed highly efficient Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) and integrates sustainable practices through aquaponics and hydroponics. Their design and engineering teams offer tailored solutions for recirculating aquaculture facilities, while their research divisions support the development of vaccines, functional feeds, and alternative protein sources.

In the PROTEIN4IMPACT project, AQB participates in WP3, where they will conduct in vivo nutritional trials to test selected protein-based products as fish feed, including control diets and fishmeal-based diets for sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) and sea bream (Sparus aurata). Their expertise in aquaculture and innovative technologies contributes significantly to the project’s goals of sustainable protein production.
