Aquaculture Europe 2026 – International Conference on Aquaculture in Global Change

Place: Ljubljana, Slovenia

Aquaculture Europe 2026 (AE2026) will take place from 28 September to 1 October 2026 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, bringing together researchers, industry leaders, policymakers, and practitioners to discuss the future of aquaculture in the context of accelerating global change. The event is organised by the European Aquaculture Society and will be hosted at the Gospodarsko Razstavišče Exhibition and Congress Centre.

The 2026 edition focuses on the theme “Aquaculture in Global Change”, addressing how climate‑driven shifts in temperature, water availability, salinity, oxygen levels, and extreme events affect aquaculture systems across Europe. Sessions will explore adaptation strategies, species diversification, animal health and welfare, nutrition, breeding, and ecosystem services.

Technical sessions, industry forums, a large trade exhibition, and satellite workshops will provide a platform for scientific exchange and collaboration across the aquaculture value chain. AE2026 will also mark the 50th anniversary of the European Aquaculture Society, celebrated throughout the event.
